REVIEW: the newest from ten tonnes, titled "girl are you lonely like me?"

Ten Tonnes (aka Ethan Barnett) constantly delivers folk-pop delicacies and "Girl Are You Lonely Like Me?," his latest offering, is just as sweet as all its predecessors. One part funky folk, equal parts head-bop-inducing pop, the new track is all about watching someone that you love, some who used to love you, love someone else. The juxtaposition between the, frankly, bummer lyrics and the upbeat tone of the song is almost addicting. It reminds me very much of a song that belongs in an early-to-late-noughties coming of age film.

The track received its first play from Annie Mac on her show Tuesday, and while her seal of approval is usually all I need in order to give a song a chance, I also knew this one would be incredible because, to put it plainly, Ten Tonnes never misses.

"Girl Are You Lonely Like Me?" can be streamed (and on repeat, preferably) on our Weekly Roundup playlist on Spotify, alongside some other incredible releases from this week. Ten Tonnes can be found on Twitter and Instagram. He hinted recently that another single is on its way, so stay tuned!
