REVIEW: "i hate the way you're looking at me (lately)" hits heavy as milk. make first post-EP drop

One of the most exciting alternative acts out of Ireland right now, milk. are back with another unmissable track, titled "I Hate the Way You're Looking at Me (Lately)." Their debut EP, 1, was released in June of this year, and it's such a cohesive and thought-provoking body of work that one had to wonder what they could come up with to one-up themselves, but here we are. They've done it.

It is physically impossible not to compare this track to something you might hear on a The 1975 record (because, though they didn't invent alt-pop, they definitely did popularize it). I know that some bands might cringe at the thought that they sound like a band as mainstream as The 1975 (and after doing a bit of research, it seems that milk. have heard that more than a handful of times), but I mean that comparison with the sincerest awe - to create something this memorable and idiosyncratic is no easy feat, and milk. have done it so well you could've sworn they did it blindfolded and standing on one foot. I eagerly await everything that they have in store for us in the future.

"I Hate the Way You're Looking at Me (Lately)" can be streamed on our Weekly Roundup playlist, alongside a ton of other great releases from this week. milk. can be found on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. They're, like I mentioned, a band that really excites me (and just about everyone else) right now, so you'll want to keep an eye on them.
